About Us
Thinkers & Doers
What started in 2021 as a mission to stop invisible losses in draft systems has grown into a movement for clarity and control across every tapped beverage. We’re uniting data, design, and discipline to help operators transform their draft programs from guesswork into growth engines. We’re not just measuring ounces—we’re redefining how the world experiences what’s on tap.
Mission
To create real-time visibility and actionable data for every poured beverage. Empowering owners & operators to protect profit, elevate guest experiences, and run smarter, more efficient businesses.
Vision
A connected world where every tap tells the truth: data flows freely, guests trust what’s poured, and beverage programs become transparent, profitable, and sustainable cornerstones of hospitality.
Values
Transparency
Clarity builds trust
Momentum
Progress over perfection
Accountability
Measure what matters

Our Founder's Story
The Quiet Problem Nobody Was Solving
Nick Spohn grew up in Kansas City with beer in his blood. Not as a brewer or bartender, but as someone who watched the industry from the inside. And everywhere he looked, he saw the same thing: waste.
Not the dramatic kind. The quiet kind. Foam down the drain. Kegs blowing early. Temperature swings. After-hours pours nobody could account for. Operators shrugging and saying, "that's just draft." The industry had accepted that 15–25% of draft beer never gets sold. Nick couldn't accept it.
The Training Ground
Before Floteq, Nick learned how systems actually work, and how they break. At Ford, he saw precision at scale: 75 cars an hour, one every 48 seconds. No assumptions. Just measurement and control. In the Army, he learned to build for any condition, any operator. Simplicity isn't weakness, it's reliability. In wireless data infrastructure, he watched real-time connectivity transform industries. The moment you can see what's happening, you can control it. In FinTech compliance, he engineered accountability into high-stakes systems where errors cost millions.
Each experience taught him the same lesson: You can't fix what you can't measure. And then it clicked: Why does every part of the beer supply chain get engineered and optimized... except the tap? The most valuable inch. The point where revenue is made or lost. And it was a blind spot.
Built for the "Show Me" State
Nick's a Missourian. That means something. Missouri is the "Show Me" state—where proof matters more than promises. Where people don't trust complexity, they trust systems that work. Floteq was designed with that mentality.
No 40-tab dashboards. No homework for staff. No sensors that can't survive a real bar. Just real-time measurements of what actually matters: temperature, pressure, flow, and variance. Data that tells you what's wrong, where it's wrong, and how to fix it. Simple. Reliable. Actionable.
Bringing Certainty to an Industry Built on Guesswork
Floteq isn't about surveillance or catching staff. It's about replacing assumptions with certainty. Nick didn't build Floteq to sell software. He built it to solve a problem the industry had accepted as unsolvable.
And now, venue by venue, tap by tap, Floteq is proving that draft waste isn't inevitable—it's just unmeasured. Measure it. Fix it. Keep the profit.
Teamwork makes the dream work
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. We love what we do and who we do it with. We’re grateful for that reality and feel fortunate to work together to help our clients and partners grow their business through the solutions we provide.
