Why we exist
The draft system is the highest-margin profit center in your venue. It's also the least visible. Foam, over-pours, temperature swings, after-hours activity — the industry spent decades calling it "normal loss." Operators absorbed it, adjusted their expectations, and moved on.
In every industry, the same rules hold: you can't fix what you can't measure. The tap was the one place nobody had applied that discipline. Floteq is what happened when someone finally did.

Our Founder's Story
Nick Spohn grew up in Kansas City watching the draft industry from the inside. And everywhere he looked, he saw the same thing: waste. Not the dramatic kind, the quiet kind. Foam down the drain. Kegs blowing early. After-hours pours nobody could account for. Operators shrugging and saying, "that's just draft." The industry had accepted that 15–25% of draft beer never gets sold. Nick couldn't accept it.
Before Floteq, Nick spent his career in environments where measurement wasn't optional. At Ford, precision at scale: 75 cars an hour, no assumptions. In the Army, simplicity as reliability. In wireless infrastructure and fintech compliance, he watched real-time data transform industries where errors cost millions. Every stop taught him the same lesson: you can't fix what you can't measure.
Then it clicked. Every part of the beer supply chain gets engineered and optimized, except the tap. The most valuable inch in the house. A blind spot.
